Estaminé was invited to participate in the 12th edition of MostrART collective exhibition, which focused on the highly relevant subject of “Mental Health”.

We got inspired by Kintsugi, a beautiful Japanese technique that involves repairing broken ceramics with lacquer, which is then dusted with gold. This process makes the piece even more beautiful than it was before the cracks, symbolizing an embrace of the past and the lessons it brings.

We found this technique, together with the Ernest Hemingway’s quote “We’re stronger in the places that we’ve been broken”, to be a perfect metaphor for the experience of grappling with mental health issues.
